How do we Erase,

This thing we have lies between us,

This vast and empty space,

You came into my life in my search for a friend,

Little did I know what was lying around the end.

My sorry life was lying forlorn on a shelf,

You came into it and made me want to be my true self,

You spilled your guts to me

and showed me how two people can be so

alike and yet how different their worlds can be.

I promise to be by your side,

and ask that you promise what we have will not be washed away by the receding tide.
